Like 90-some million Americans, several close friends/family members have been in the job hunt for some time. Their stories of the apply-wait-interview (or not) process has been fascinating
in a train-wreck sorta way. Below is the latest in a series on how this is a phenom of national proportions. If you're looking for work - or think you will be - this piece might be instructive.

 "My friend has a very strong background in market analysis and in May, applied for a non-managerial Senior Analyst position with this pipeline company.  Initially, everything was pretty routine from the phone screening interview to in-person on-site interview with 3 managers.  Then things took a bizarre turn.
